Editorial Policy
How Tech Usama researches, fact-checks, updates and corrects its articles, uses AI tools, and keeps advertising separate from editorial.
This policy explains how Tech Usama researches, writes, updates and corrects its articles, and how we keep advertising separate from editorial decisions. We hold ourselves to it. If you think we've fallen short, please tell us.
Who is responsible
Tech Usama is an independent publication run by its founder, Usama, who acts as editor and is responsible for everything published on the site. Every article carries a byline and its publication date. If other contributors write for Tech Usama, their work goes through the same review process described here, and their name appears on what they write.
Original content
Every article is written for Tech Usama. We don't copy, rewrite or closely paraphrase other publications. When an article relies on a specific source for a fact, we link to that source where it helps the reader.
How we make recommendations
Where the information comes from
Our recommendations are based on research, not paid placement. The sources we rely on most are:
- Official Google Play listings and developer websites
- Developer documentation, plus official Android Help and Android Developers pages
- Reputable technology reporting and an app's or game's broad, long-term reputation
What we check
Before we recommend an app or game, we check the details readers rely on: that it is currently available on Google Play, its pricing model (free, ad-supported, in-app purchases, subscription or one-time purchase), and, where relevant, offline play, controller support, multiplayer modes and published device requirements. If we can't verify a detail, we leave it out rather than guess.
Hands-on testing
We don't claim hands-on testing unless an article explicitly says a product was tested and explains how. Most of our recommendation content is research-based, and it says so. You won't find "we tested" language on Tech Usama for something we didn't test.
Opinion
When an article makes a judgment, such as which note-taking app suits a particular way of working, that judgment is our opinion based on the research, and we present it as opinion.
Recommendations are not for sale
No company can pay to be included in an article, ranked higher or described more favorably. We don't accept money, gifts or free products in exchange for coverage.
Accuracy and fact-checking
Before an article is published, any claim that could be wrong or out of date is checked against current official sources. In practice that means:
- We describe pricing as a model (for example, "free with in-app purchases") rather than quoting prices that change often.
- We don't publish invented statistics, benchmarks or download counts.
- We name Android settings paths as accurately as we can and note when menus differ by manufacturer.
Updates and dates
Apps and games change constantly, so we review published articles and update them when the facts change. An article's "Updated" date reflects substantive changes only: a recommendation added or removed, a corrected fact, a changed pricing model, or revised steps. Typo fixes and formatting tweaks don't change the date, and we never change the date without changing the content.
Corrections
If you spot an error, use the contact page and choose the Content correction topic. Include the article's URL, what you believe is wrong and, if you have one, a source. We review every correction request. When an error is confirmed, we fix it promptly. If the error was significant, meaning it could have affected a reader's decision, we add a short note to the article explaining what changed.
Advertising and editorial independence
Tech Usama is supported by advertising. Ads appear in designated slots, are labeled as advertising, and are kept visually separate from article content. Advertisers have no influence over what we cover, how we cover it or what we recommend, and buying ads doesn't buy coverage. We don't publish sponsored content made to look like editorial. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labeled as sponsored. More detail is on our advertise page.
Affiliate links
Tech Usama doesn't use affiliate links. If that changes, we'll disclose affiliate links clearly in the articles where they appear and update this policy. An affiliate relationship would never decide what we recommend.
AI-assisted content
AI tools may help us with research, drafting and editing. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a human editor before publication, and the editor is responsible for what is published, however a draft was produced.
We don't publish AI output without that review, and we don't use AI to invent quotes, testing claims, reviews or statistics. Featured images and diagrams on the site are original illustrations created for Tech Usama. They are illustrations, not screenshots or product photos, and if AI image tools are ever used to make them, they are reviewed before publication like everything else.
Downloads and safety
We don't host APK files or any other downloads. When we link to an app or game, we link to its official store listing or developer site. We don't link to pirated, cracked or modified apps.
